  7.     - Release Date: November 8, 1996!
  8.     - Found ANOTHER bug in the VLM command if you were initially using LESS
  9.       than 15 logs. (Actually, I noticed the program WORKED, but printed a
  10.       bug report to SCREEN, then continued running).
  11.     - Noted the command files were still using the older error-check routines,
  12.       so I replaced it with my newest one(which translates MCI control-codes
  13.       into their non-lethal { and \ counterparts).
  14.     - This version will be available on my BBS and Web Page, but I'll wait a
  15.       week before sending back to AmiNet, as I hate to keep sending updated
  16.       versions their way. (Doesn't look too good!) hehe

  20.     - Release Date: November 3, 1996!
  21.     - Some corrupted characters in the MAINT and CONFIG files were causing
  22.       them NOT to be usable.
  23.     - NO OTHER CHANGES were made, other than the version numbers used.

  27.     - Release Date: October 2, 1996!
  28.     - This version SPECIFICALLY written for v4.23 CNet Amiga, and will NOT
  29.       run on earlier 4.xx versions, NOR will it run on v3.05c. SysOps still
  30.       using v3.05c will have to continue using the 4.1 version ViewLog.
  31.     - Those bugs I could remember in the BETA version were removed, and the
  32.       following additional changes were also made:
  33.         - The "ViewLog5.cfg" file is now stored directly in the "ViewLog5/"
  34.           directory, and it is now possible to store this directory ANYWHERE
  35.           on your system you so wish.
  36.         - The CONFIG program was modified:
  37.             - The "Command Path" was removed, as it is no longer needed.
  38.             - Toggles for AnsiRead usage in both the LF and VL modules were
  39.               included.
  40.             - A complete path/filename are now asked for the LOCATION of the
  41.               AnsiRead program IF you'll be using it.
  42.         - The AMAINT program received some corrections, notably where it
  43.           saw instances of your first defined log(in the VL_Data) file as
  44.           being NEW. The output of this file, while it is running, was also
  45.           modified to more adequately describe what it is doing.
  46.         - The MAINT program needed certain modifications to it's getuser
  47.           values in order to correctly read your log values from CNet's
  48.           memory structures. The "Q" command was also fixed.
  49.         - The USERLOG viewer received the enhanced AnsiRead calls, as well
  50.           as the "smart" path changes.
  51.         - The SYSOPLOG viewer received the same changes as were made to the
  52.           USERLOG, and additionally:
  53.             - The "A" command was not working.
  54.             - History files were being corrupted during trimming operations.
  55.             - The colors used for displaying the names of the logs were not
  56.               being reset properly when the "ALL" menu receeded off the top
  57.               of the screen.
  58.             - A few additional confirmation requests were added in areas
  59.               where they were lacking.
  60.         - The amigaguide doc file was updated to include info on suggested
  61.           log usage, as well as having it's BETA notes removed. This HISTORY
  62.           file was also included.

  64. === v4.90 ===
  65.  
  66.     - This was the BETA version 5.00, released February 20, 1996 to only a
  67.       handful of users. Written for the first release of CNet, v4.xx by Ken
  68.       Pletzer, this file was started completely from scratch, as there were
  69.       some specific NEW features I wanted to see added:
  70.  
  71.         - You can now specify ACCESS GROUP RANGES for each log to be used
  72.           in the determination of who exactly gets to see each log.
  73.         - Separate group ranges, as well as a "master" control were also
  74.           added to determine who has the ability to perform maintenance on
  75.           each log.
  76.         - The logs can now be TRIMMED, or shortened to a specified number
  77.           of lines, again where each log can have it's own trim value.
  78.         - If you so choose, each log can also have a "history" file created
  79.           from the "trimmings" of the above operation. You can also specify
  80.           the length you wish each history file to be.
  81.         - A new ANSI (and Ascii) screen display has been added for the User
  82.           Log, so that ALL users can view logs.
  83.         - A superior SysOp ViewLog module was also included.
  84.         - A companion program, AnsiRead, is highly suggested to be used in
  85.           conjunction with ViewLog. This AnsiRead program is used in the
  86.           display of the logs and offers MANY commands for manipulating the
  87.           log, searching for text strings, enabling/disabling interpretation
  88.           of ANSI/MCI codes and MUCH, MUCH more.
  89.         - The main README file was converted to AmigaGuide for more ease of
  90.           use, as well as receiving "enhancements" for those using the 3.1
  91.           operating systems.
  92.         - A "title" bar can also be created for each log, which is useful
  93.           in figuring out what the DATA in a log means.

  95. === v4.1 ===

  97.     - The UP250 MCI Conversion Program that came with CNet 2.60/R1 did not
  98.       always correctly convert occurrances of the \# and \$ commands.
  99.     - This version is a WORKING version 4.0 for CNet 2.60/R1 & Later Only!
  100.     - One other small change was made where you now need to press RETURN
  101.       after selecting from either the ViewLog or the UserLog main menu.

  105.     - All files related to View_Log stored in "ViewLog" directory within
  106.       the Pfile: section. Only LOGS are stored in Sysdata:Log/ now.
  107.     - This version allows you to delete a Log OR Log Flag from the VL_Config
  108.       file, making it faster than having to ReRead the "bbsconfig3" file.
  109.     - You can now select to show your USERS certain Logs as well. A new
  110.       command file, "User_Logs" displays ONLY those Logs you specify as
  111.       being User Viewable Logs.
  112.     - You can now have a maximum of 64 Custom Logs each utilizing as many
  113.       as 20 Activity flags. More than adequate for ANYBODY!
  114.     - A new, custom 80 column look has been added to this version.
  115.     - The Creator can now PRINT a hardcopy of your Log Configuration.
  116.     - You can specify DEFAULT settings for AutoScan, Global ReStart, and
  117.       Global UserLog settings each time the "bbsconfig3" file is ReRead.
  118.     - OPTIMIZED FOR SUPER-FAST ANSI OPERATION!
  119.     - The 'backdoor' commands "Q" and "M" are now available at ALL the
  120.       'Press ENTER now...' prompts within the VL/LF command.
  121.     - Consideration was given to the "uloads" and "dloads" Logs so that
  122.       you can still use the LU command, but have a name other than "uloads"
  123.       or "dloads" displayed in the menus.
  124.     - Alphabetizing routines used when creating VL_Config file.
  125.     - v3.0 had a problem dealing with Logs using more than one Activity
  126.       Flag. This version takes care of that problem.

  130.     - Once again, v2.0 is OBSOLETE!!!
  131.     - Ken's new Config File has done away with the "BBSLOG" file.
  132.     - This version reads "bbsconfig3" to find out about your Log SetUp
  133.       and goes from there.
  134.     - The "Config Creator" has undergone some changes. You may no
  135.       longer Add/Delete/Edit etc. Log Names. Use Ken's "Config" file
  136.       to do that. The Config Creator lets you set which Logs will
  137.       AutoRestart and whether you wish AutoScan ON or OFF.
  138.     - You may no longer Add/Edit/Change Log Flags anymore through
  139.       the Config Creator. Again, use Ken's "Config" file to do this.
  140.     - The "VL_Config" file is now stored in "SysData:Log/"
  141.     - The command works EXACTLY the same as v2.0.

  145.     - COMPLETELY REWRITTEN FROM THE GROUND UP!!
  146.     - A "Configuration Creator" was made, so that you never had to load
  147.       and edit BBSLOG yourself ever again!
  148.     - Using the creator, you can create up to 13 different custom logs
  149.       of your OWN, INDIVIDUAL choosing.
  150.     - You can specify whether each log will automatically RESTART itself,
  151.       without you having to answer any questions.
  152.     - You could specify up to 13 different flags to be incorporated into
  153.       EACH separate log file.
  154.     - An "AutoScan" feature that displayed all logs that existed.
  155.     - Flags telling you which logs existed and which ones didn't.
  156.     - The most CONFIGURABLE LOGGER AVAILABLE for Amiga C-Net!!!

  160.     - Better algorithym dealing with the Handles, so the logs didn't get
  161.       filled up if a user didn't do anything dealing with that log.
  162.     - Allowed specification as to which logs received handles, and which
  163.       ones didn't need that info.
  164.     - SuperScan added that didn't need the user to specify they wanted
  165.       to Scan all the logs. It simply did it as soon as the file was
  166.       executed.
  167.     - This file was never officially released, due to my obtaining of
  168.       C-Net v2.30, which corrected the bug with the Handles not appearing
  169.       in the logs. In v2.30, Handles appear in ALL the Logs, so this
  170.       version was obsolete.

  174.     - Added the capability of storing the HANDLE into the log.
  175.     - Updated(Downgraded) color schemes to match C-Net Maint colors.
